Neighborhood Spotlight: The Battery Atlanta

If you’re thinking of buying a home in the Metro Atlanta area, but want the convenience of city living with a more affordable price, you need look no further than The Battery Atlanta.

Conveniently situated near I-75 and I-285, The Battery Atlanta is actually in unincorporated Cumberland and part of Cobb County. While Suntrust Park has an Atlanta address, homes for sale in the area near the park generally have a Smyrna address.

That may sound a little confusing, so let me take a step back and rephrase that.

New Home to the Atlanta Braves and a Whole Lot More

The Battery Atlanta is actually a mixed-use development that consists of a variety of unique shops, restaurants, and entertainment facilities. It was built and opened in 2017. The development is part of The Battery’s main attraction, which is SunTrust Park, home to the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball.

While the neighborhoods surrounding the park aren’t officially considered part of the commercial development, the surrounding community has for the most part adopted The Battery Atlanta as their name in the same way that Atlantan’s who live in Little Five Points have claimed that area as their own.

With its close proximity to the interstate and downtown Atlanta, as well as the convenience for those who want to shop and work in Smyrna, Marietta and even Vinings, The Battery Atlanta has become more than just a place to see a ballgame. It has become one of the hottest communities around for people who want to enjoy luxury living without the upscale price.
